Dear Primary and Middle School Parents and Guardians,I hope this email finds each of you and your families safe and well.Thank you for your support over the past week in working with school staff in support of remote learning.Today would have been a day for making progress reports available online for primary and middle school parents. However, as a result of the closure of schools on March 18th, 2020, the Department and schools are not in a position to provide progress reports at this time. However, teachers will be given the opportunity to complete progress reports during the week of April 6th, 2020, with the aim of providing online progress reports on April 10th, 2020. The progress reports will be for the period January 31st, 2020 to March 18th, 2020.As our community continues to navigate this challenging time, I hope that you and you family are able to find some time to relax during the Easter break.Respectfully,Commissioner Kalmar Richards
March 19, 2020 Good Morning Parents. Most of you now know that school is now closed and Spring Break has been extended until April 13th, 2020 (FYI – Students are still in their winter uniforms) Just a reminder; your child’s spring break vacation will begin March 30th until April 10th.Teachers have been working diligently to ensure that your child still has a quality learning experience. Student work packets are now available from the school until 3:30 p.m. All parents are asked to enter through the office door. A staff member will be in the hallway to assist you with the collection of packets. In the event you have any questions regarding your child’s work packet, you may contact your child’s teacher. Teachers have provided all parents with their phone number, whassapp and/or email. (My email is tcariah@moed.bm) Below are a few online activities that your child(ren) can engage in during this time.BrainPopCircleTime FunAdmitHub2SimpleGamilabhttps://schoolchoiceweek.com/37-free-online-resources-for-schools-shifting-online-during-coronavirus/https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/teaching-tools/articles/resources/scholastic-learn-at-home--free-resources-for-school-closures.html# I urge you parents to keep Xbox/Playstation usage and wandering aimlessly throughout the neighbourhood to a minimum. Please stress to your child that this is not a holiday. We are still in learning mode and we want to ensure that the upcoming weeks are productive.
