The Behaviour Service

The Behaviour Management service uses evidence-based approaches to teach parents how to shape their child’s behaviour and support their child in developing the ability to manage their emotions. This includes learning ways to increase positive behaviours and decrease unwanted behaviours.

Benefits to the child:

  • Early intervention can reduce the risk of school disruption, aggressive behaviour and risk-taking behaviour, and encourage mental well-being later in life
  • Developing strong social-emotional skills can have an impact on school success, and developing self-esteem and healthy relationships

Benefits to the parent:

  • Can help parents understand their child’s needs and behaviours, and feel better able to manage unwanted or unexpected behaviours
  • Offers resources and support to build a strong bond between parent and child
